First it was Dallara.  Then it was Sarah Fisher Hartman (Now Carpenter Fisher Hartman) Racing.  Then it was AJ Foyt Racing.  Then it was Sarah Fisher’s indoor karting facility.

Now Main Street in Speedway, Indiana has a new tenant.

Juncos Racing announced today that they are building a $3,000,000 facility that will encompass around 41,000 square feet. The building will be about four times as large as their race shop in Miami.

The facility will allow for Juncos to further expand in motorsports.  This year, Juncos has moved to the Indy Lights championship with two cars and their facility is running out of room, fast.  This investment says a lot about Juncos Racing as a whole, especially when no other Mazda Road to Indy team has made this investment.

Highly invested

“It says that we’re highly invested in the Mazda Road To Indy, our intention is to continue to expand there. We’re looking at other series, IndyCar included, sports car racing as well,” said Charles Crews, team manager at Juncos Racing.

“We’re looking at the different avenues and where the next step for us is to expand as a team, not to move. The whole idea is to diversify our team into different series and to expand in the ones that we’re already in while always creating a professional effort and a competitive effort,” Crews added.

Team owner Ricardo Juncos hammered home the point that the development of the team is also what the Mazda Road to Indy’s mission is.

“The Road to Indy, everybody thinks it’s for drivers and you have the steps to move up, but the Road to Indy is also for teams and mechanics and we’re developing drivers, mechanics, we have young engineers now in the Pro Mazda team that are doing a great job, so the Road to Indy is for absolutely everybody I think, not just drivers,” Juncos said.
