Sven Haidinger

At the age of 11, Sven wrote in a school essay titled "Me at 32" that he wants to become a Formula 1 journalist one day. No surprise, since his parents grew up not far from the old Österreichring, the monthly magazine rallye racing had been his favourite reading material since early childhood and Heinz Prüller's Grand Prix Story was the eagerly awaited Christmas present every year. To get closer to his dream, he applied to Christoph Amann's security company CAM in 2002 after high school to guard the motorhomes of David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve and Mika Salo during the European F1 season. Sven took the opportunity to ask the McLaren star for an interview - the first of his life. During his journalism studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna, which he completed in 2010, he learned his journalistic craft at the Sportmagazin publishing house from 2006 onwards - whether by managing the motorsport section at sportnet.at, on-site reporting from Formula 1 and other events for SportWoche or writing magazine stories. After a brief interlude as co-organiser of the Austrian motorsport show Racingshow, Sven moved to Motorsport-Total.com in 2010. Two years ago, he took over the DTM channel - and with investigative research quickly advanced to become one of the leading journalists in this field.
