Notes: This is the first time Goodyear has brought this specific combination of left- and right-side tires to Daytona . . . all three major NASCAR series -- Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck -- as well as IROC, will use the same tire codes throughout Speed Weeks . . . the only difference will be that the Craftsman Truck tires will be stamped with the "Goodyear Wrangler" brand, while the other three series will be stamped "Goodyear Eagle" . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in their tires at Daytona . . . air pressure in the inner liner must be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
Goodyear Quote -- Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: "This is the same construction that was used at Daytona last year, with a slightly tougher right-side compound for improved tread wear. This same construction will also be utilized at Talladega with different compounds."
