Notes: Both the Nextel Cup and Busch Series teams will run on the same tire codes this weekend . . . this is the first time this specific combination of left- and right-side tires will be run at Texas . . . the previous combination had been run at the track since 2002 . . . this is the only track on which major NASCAR teams are scheduled to run this tire set-up in 2004, meaning the Truck Series will run these codes here on June 11 and October 16 . . . as on all NASCAR ovals longer than one mile, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Texas . . . the air pressure in the inner liners must be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
