BIG PRIZE POOL FOR FINAL ROUND OF 2009 AUSTRALIAN CIK CHAMPIONSHIP

Organisers of the 2009 Australian CIK Championship have announced today that drivers at the final round, to be held at Ipswich, Queensland on October 24/25, will be competing for a $6,500 prizepool.

Courtesy of Defence Industries, manufacturers of high quality security roller shutters, there will be no less than $5,000 cash to be split among the competitors.

Each of the first 15 entries received for the KF2 category will receive $100 cash and there will be prizemoney split across the two finals with the winner of the first final receiving $500 and the second final $1,000. There will also be prize money for the second and third place runners in the first final and the top five finishers will also receive an allocation of prizemoney.

In addition to the $5,000 cash that will be distributed at the event St George Kart Centre will also be distributing a total of $1,500 of product to CIK competitors at the event.

"As a Series we are delighted to have the likes of Defence Industries and St George Kart Centre come on board to support the series in the form of an impressive prizepool for the final round," said Series Spokesman Peter Galvin.

"It has been great to see the CIK Championship get back on track this year and hopefully this prizepool will encourage more drivers to get on board for the final round.

"We are currently working hard to finalise plans for next year and are hoping that these plans will be finalised in the next couple of weeks so we can announce it to everyone in the Australian karting community."
