O'Dell win track championship, Bequette claims first win
DOE RUN, Mo. -- (Sept. 14, 2001) Derek O'Dell not only drove himself to a feature win Friday night at the Doe Run Raceway in the Multi class he also secured enough points to win the 2001 track championship.
O'Dell and Dustin Barks hooked up for most of the feature and battled side by side around the track. O'Dell finally made a pass around Barks, but a yellow flag once again placed Barks out front. Following the restart O'Dell was once again able to make it pass Barks and from that point on the race belonged to O'Dell.
