FIRSTKART.COM CLAIMS TWO SKI AWARDS
"Team of the Year and Young Driver of the Year"
Guelph, ON. -- February 27, 2006 -- First Kart North America and the FirstKart.com race team claimed two of the prestigious Super Kart Illustrated Excellence Awards that were handed out this past weekend at the KMI Kart Expo show in St. Charles, IL. Receiving the nod for Young Driver of the Year was national champion Zach Schiff while the FirstKart.com race team claimed the Team of the Year award.
2005 was a great year for FirstKart.com juniors as they managed to win two Stars of Kart East championships, two Stars of Karting national championships and a World Karting Association Manufactures Cup and Florida Winter Tour championship. Several of these titles were won by current ICC rookie and newly crowned Young Driver of the Year, Zach Schiff.
The FirstKart.com race team grew in 2005 and the arrive and drive program was in full swing. Competing on both the East and West coast, FirstKart.com staff and drivers were treated to new experiences and new tracks. With a heavy travel schedule and a lot of time on the road, the team members gelled perfectly and were able to overcome any problems that they encountered. Running up front, providing strong results and teamwork were the name of the game and the FirstKart.com race team did that with success picking up five national and countless regional championships along the way and for that received the Team of the Year award.
"The First Kart staff and I would like to congratulate Zach Schiff on his award" stated First Kart President Tony Ventresca. "At the same time the Team of the Year award is a team award and every person under the tent had a role in it achieving it. In addition to the championships and victories scored by the team, the atmosphere and team work in our pit space adds a great deal to our successes."
2006 is going to be an exciting year for the team as First Kart North America will travel to all East and West coast events in the Stars of Karting Championship, the World Karting Association Manufactures Cup and the Florida Winter Tour. Arrive and Drive opportunities are available for any interested parties.
