SCOTT ROSSI VICTORIOUS AT IKF EVENT
"First win of 2006"
Guelph, Ontario -- March 7, 2006 -- Multi-time karting champion and Stars of Karting front runner Scott Rossi picked up his first win of the 2006 season last weekend at the International Karting Federation (IKF) Region 7 event. The event was held at the Buffalo Bills Hotel and Casino in Primm, NV.
After struggling with brake issues in the pre-final, Rossi moved forward from the ninth place starting position to claim the checkers in the Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) final.
Running on a borrowed KRT chassis with High-Rev power, Scott and his tuner worked hard throughout the weekend to try and nail down the elusive setup and finally managed to get it in the final.
"With all the trouble that we were having, it wasn't looking good after the pre-final" expressed Rossi. "With a lot of hard work and a little first corner luck, I was able to move up a few positions and have a chance for the victory. I was not here to finish second and am happy with the win."
With the Stars of Karting event only two weeks away, Rossi hopes to go two for two in 2006 when he enters the Race of the America's at Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Norman, OK.
