Davis Wins Path Valley Déjà Vu Motor Race
Spring Run, PA- In a déjà vu repeat of the June 30 motor race at Path Valley Speedway Park, Shawn Davis of Newport repeated his win with twin brother Chris right behind. Davis earned a new stock Briggs 5hp motor for his efforts.
Seven-year-old Austin Hogue of York won in both the Jr. Sportsman I and Jr. Sportsman II classes, and Chris Claar of Claysburg dominated the adult kart classes with wins in both the medium and heavy karts. Barry Gillam won in the Sr. Caged Kart class to end the eight-race winning streak of his niece, Nicole Eaton. He beat her to the finish by half a kart length.
A total of 105 entries in karts and four-wheelers filled the lower Path Valley pits, and Cody Seiber of Port Royal made his first visit this season to Path Valley and won in the caged rookie class with his kart #45.
Karting action continues next Saturday with gates open at 11 a.m. Teams and fans are invited to participate in the canned food drive to benefit local food banks. Grandstand admission is free for Path Valley Karting races and fans are invited to also join in supporting the food bank contributions for needy local families.
The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown. It is five miles east from the Willow Hill Exit 14 of the PA Turnpike off Route 75.
