Karters Race for Fun at Path Valley Saturday

Spring Run, PA - With the end of the season points races the week before, Path Valley Speedway Park Saturday Kart racers turned out to race for the fun of racing and to try new karts and classes Saturday, according to Promoter Ken Geesey.

The race of the day was in the Lite Karts where Jr. Restricted 2001 champion Andy Burkholder moved up a class and beat 2001 Lites champion Geremey Sheaffer in a field of ten. Sheaffer did win the heat race.

Karts and quads are scheduled Sept. 22 and then the final race for karts at Path Valley is Sunday, Sept. 30, when the track makes up a rained out June Pennsylvania Dirt Karters Association (PDKA) race. The PDKA is an affiliate of the World Karting Association and the riders race for state championships under WKA rules.

The Second Annual Path Valley Speedway Park Combined Awards Banquet will be Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Pleasant Hall Fire Co. with doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 and limited to 400 and available from the track on a first-come first-sold basis. "Dodies" will cater the meal and the entertainment will include DJ Phantom Shadow.

The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown. It is five miles east from the Willow Hill Exit 14 of the PA Turnpike off Route 75.
