Two First Time Winners Top Path Valley Karters

Spring Run, PA_ Cody Sieber of Port Royal won his first feature this season in the Fox's Pizza Lites by barely a length ahead of Cory Comp. Then Ethan Beasom of Mifflintown won his first in two seasons in the Jr. Stock class Saturday at the Path Valley Speedway Park.

Craig Shaffer beat out Aaron Neuder for the Zero Ice Sr. Champs win and in another upset Tracy Imler, of Imler in Bedford County, beat her brother Troy to the checkers. It was her second win of the season, with all but one of the other races going to her brother, the defending champion. Mechanic Wayne Long said that Tracy changed her setup after heat races while Troy didn't.

Even the Burris Racing Kids Karts provided racing thrills as Gavyn Deiter beat Richard Edwards by less than a length while at the same time lapping fourth place Amber Potts. Burris Racing is the general sponsor at Path Valley and the races are sanctioned by the Burris National Speedway Series (BNSS) as a Burris SpecTrak.

A Mechanic's Race is planned next Saturday, July 3, with gates open at 10 a.m. and warm-ups by noon. The dads and moms who work on the karts as mechanics will race in the standard boxstock classes with a minimum weight of 350 pounds.

The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown. It is five miles east from the Willow Hill Exit 14 of the PA Turnpike. The new phone number at the track is 717-349-7111. For information on the 2004 schedule and rules, race teams and fans can consult our website at www.pathvalley.com or they can email Two Wheel Promotions at twp@pathvalley.com.
