WKA announces Firestone as new Speedway Dirt sponsor

11.08.2010 - As announced last week, WKA's Speedway Dirt program is experiencing a number of positive changes heading into 2011 with an eye on returning the tour to prominence in America's dirt-karting arena.

Another exciting change comes this week with the announcement that Firestone has become the new WKA Speedway Dirt Program title sponsor for the 2011 season, which kicks off with this December's Dirt World Championships at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

Firestone replaces Briggs & Stratton Motorsports as the series' backer.

The Dirt tour, now tagged the Firestone Speedway Dirt Program, boasts a four-race slate in a brand-new Road to Daytona format with national events in Daytona, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. Last week to pre-enter Margay Sprint Nationals at lowest rate

11.08.2010 - With the insertion of a tiered pre-registration system for this year's Margay Sprint Nationals and Dirt World Championships at Daytona Int'l Speedway Dec. 27-30, George Kugler / Bridgestone Manufacturer's Cup driven by Mazda racers are reminded that this week marks the final days to pre-register at the lowest rate, which is $70 per class and $40 for Dec. 28 practice.

Pre-entries will be accepted through Thursday, Nov. 11, at the lower rate. Beginning Friday each class is $85 and the practice fee increases to $45. These fees last until Friday, Dec. 10, when pre-registration for the event closes.

At-track entry fees are $95 per class and $50 for practice.

October online magazine now live on WorldKarting.com

11.08.2010 - The October edition of WKA's Karting Scene online magazine is now live on the WorldKarting.com homepage. You can view it by clicking on the magazine cover which can be found under the heading toward the top-right corner of the Web page.

This issue contains full race reports and photos from Road America Manufacturer's Cup and Road Racing, Chapel Hill Speedway Pavement, Carnesville Speedway Dirt and VIR Road Racing.

The November edition, which will be available in about a month, will feature coverage from New Castle Man Cup, Gold Cup and Speedway Pavement, as well as Putnam Park Road Racing.
