ROUND FIVE ON TAP FOR PROKART CHALLENGE NORTH
Championship battles heating up as Superkarts! Northern California region nears end of the season

SONOMA, CA (August 6, 2008) -- Another exciting edition of Superkarts! USA ProKart Challenge North program is on tap this weekend with Round #5 taking place at the Jim Russell International Karting Center at Infineon Raceway. The 3/4-mile circuit in Sonoma, California circuit will host the fifth straight event, returning to the standard clockwise direction of the national configuration after the last two rounds of running in the reverse direction. With the championship counting the best five of six races for each driver, the titles and the handsome prize packages offered by SKUSA and Jim Russell Racing Drivers School are all still up for grabs.

Two drivers have been especially on their game this season at the PKC North events: Matt Alcorn and Craig Corwin. Both had perfect records heading into Round #4, and despite a few hiccups, they prevailed in July -- with their fourth main event wins on the year. Alcorn leads the S4 division over Alexander Keith, while Craig Corwin sits on top of the G1 standings over Ethan Wilson.

TaG Senior will come down to the wire with five tough drivers in the hunt. Jason Toft leads by just 29 points over round four winner Will Martindale -- with Cameron Pringle, main event winners Brett Buckwalter and Alex Speed giving chase. Toft also holds the top spot in S3, with Marc Elliott trailing by 150 points heading into round five. Cody Hodgson still leads the S1 standings, with Herman Ip and Steve Elo in front of the TaG Masters Light and TaG Masters divisions. HPV 2 will be on the schedule for the remainder of the season -- with the point championship beginning last round with David Vasquez taking the main event win and standings lead over Donavon Wheeler and Kelsey Nilsson.

PKC will again provide a Friday night BBQ, sponsored by Diede Construction, for all those competitors and their family and friends following the full day of practice.
