Crunch Time:
Superkarts! USA ProMoto Tour Eastern Championship to be decided in Illinois

NORWAY, IL - The beautiful Norway Speedway is the setting for the third and final event of the Superkarts! USA ProMoto Tour Eastern Championship Series. Phoenix, AZ's Alan Rudolph leads the headline SuperPro class points standings thanks to a season of unmatched consistency and he will be looking for more of the same as he attempts to take the Eastern crown. Rudolph has stood on the podium in three of the first four races this season, driving for the Wisconsin-based Franklin Motorsports squad aboard a factory Yamaha-backed PCR.

Mirroring the Western Championship series that wrapped up two weeks ago in Portland, OR, no one driver has taken hold and dominated the series. Oconomowoc, WI's Bobby Wilson kicked off the program with two wins at the opening round in Austin but a pair of DNF's in Round #2 at Barrie, ON have hampered his quest for a second Moto World Championship. This has left the #1 plate wide open and heading into the start of the official sessions on Saturday morning, there will be more than ten drivers with a shot at the Eastern title.

In the support classes of SKUSA's development ladder, Nick Bussell leads the points handily in the Formula S1 Expert 125cc class. After sweeping the finals at both of the first two rounds of the series in Austin and Barrie, Bussell looks set to make a real run at the national championship as no one driver on the West Coast program has a record to match his perfection. With a single drop allowed for the drivers to eliminate their worst result, Bussell will need just a single win to take a perfect 5-for-5 record to the World Finals. This shootout will be a double-points event held in Norman, OK on the September 21st weekend.

Mile High Karting's Chris Jackson holds the points lead in the Formula K1 80cc Senior category while Canadian James Hinchcliffe owns the top of the chart in the Formula Junior class thanks to Rudolph-like consistency. The primary challenger in the class is Mike Giessen - the New York state driver that sits in third behind Texan C.R. Crews with three class wins on his record. Being able to drop the DNF he logged in Barrie, Giessen is in a good position for the East Championship.

Full results from all of the on-track sessions will be posted from the track to the SKUSA ProMoto Tour website - www.promototour.com
