Parrott moves to second in the British Kart Championship
Jason rocketed to second in the British Kart Championship on Sunday after taking a second and third place in the double-header event. The second round of the championship was held at PF International in Lincolnshire and Jason was only beaten by Mark Litchfield and Gary Catt of the PFi team based at the circuit.
Jason qualified 6th on the grid for the heats but soon found that Catt, Litchfield and himself were in a class of their own all weekend, and could save his tyres for the finals where he started second.
In the first final, Jason was pushed back to sixth at the start but was able to fight back to second as his lap times were only two hundredths of a second slower than the leader. In the second final, Jason led for half the race but made a mistake, which let his rivals by.
He continued to battle Catt until the end and would have stayed ahead of him in second if he had realised they were on the last lap and to beware of flying passing manoeuvres!
Jason is now second in the championship behind Catt and is five points ahead of Riki Christodoulou, but with ten races left in the season he has more than enough time to make his mark.
The next round will be at Clay Pigeon in Dorset in a fortnight.
