Vancouver, British Columbia -- October 24, 2007 -- Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) pilot Scott Rossi scored a third place result in Sunday afternoons second final at the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series finale held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. The talented Canadian progressed through the heat races with ease to setup a great starting position for both main events at the series finale race.

After a tough qualifying session that saw Rossi outside the top ten in 13th, the British Columbia native would turn to his experience to help him move through the heat races. Rossi would be forced to start each heat race inside row seven and progressively moved forward in all three events to score a seventh and two eighth place finishes. With his strong consistency, Rossi would start both of Sunday's main events from P8.

Rossi enjoyed a great drive in final one as he methodically worked his way forward throughout the event. Taking the lead at the halfway point, the Intrepid driver was definitely in the hunt for the victory until some late race shuffling moved him back to second. Looking at the big championship picture, Rossi held his on track position and would look to make a run at the title in final two.

"We had a great run in the first final but were unfortunately disqualified in post race technical inspection," explained Scott Rossi. "We were using a motor that was not ours and forgot to change the intake manifold as suggested by the supplier. We went out and purchased the manifold but it never got put it on the motor. It is pretty disappointing and takes us out of the championship hunt but I'll be back for the second final and hope to take the checkers."

Final two was another great run for Rossi as he again progressed forward to battle with the leaders. Unable to win the championship, Rossi was going for the race win and battling hard to do so. Rossi muscled his way into the top five before contact by two fellow competitors slowed him up allowing the leader to get away and ruin his chances of victory. Rossi did however claim the third and final position on the podium is his final JICA event.

In only six weeks time to the PRI All-Star Karting Classic, Rossi will trade in his 100cc Parilla powered JICA Intrepid chassis for the 125cc Spec Race TaG package and do battle with some of the nations best.
