ST. LOUIS, Mo., (March 17, 2003) - Within days of the announcement that Margay Products had signed Robert Bunker of Bridgewater, N.J. to compete in the WKA Manufacturer's Cup and CART Stars of Tomorrow series, the 14 year old Margay Factory Team driver scored three dominant feature race wins in Formula Yamaha Junior, HPV Junior, and Yamaha Junior SuperCan at the WKA Winter Nationals at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Bunker's first feature win came on Saturday, March 15, 2003, in the Formula Yamaha Junior class. From his sixth place starting position, Bunker quickly moved into the lead on lap three and went unchallenged for the rest of the race. "I was able to take my time and find a line that worked for me," said Bunker following the victory. "The wet track conditions made it difficult but our Margay Brava 1.2 worked flawlessly and our Woltjer engine never missed a beat, even in the rain," Bunker added.

Bunker's second feature win came later that same day in the HPV Junior Class. After winning the pre-final, Bunker led from flag to flag in the rain shorted 10-lap feature race. "I felt pretty good going into the race but anything can happen, especially in the rain," said Bunker following his second feature race win of the day. "Even though the track conditions got worse, our Margay stayed consistent throughout the race," said Bunker.

The third victory came the following day under similar wet conditions. Bunker had a perfect day in the Yamaha Jr. SuperCan class by setting fast time in qualifying and leading every lap in the pre-final and final events. "By the time the feature came around, the track was starting to dry out just a little. I was concerned that our Bridgestone rain tires may get overheated so I tried to take it easy on them," said Bunker following his third feature race win of the weekend.

"I'm really happy for Robert and for the whole team," said Chip Bunker, Robert's father. "Everyone on the team worked very hard to make this happen. I knew that the experience of John Baio [Robert's tuner] would pay off. He made exactly the right decisions at every point during the entire weekend. I couldn't ask for anything more. I'm especially thankful to our sponsors, Keith Freber of Margay Products, Carl Wolter of Woltjer Engines, and Art Verlengiere of RLV Tuned Exhaust Products. Their support means a lot to us. This is a dream come true," Chip added.

Bunker is sponsored by Margay Racing Products, Woltjer Racing Engines, and RLV Tuned Exhaust Products.

Margay Racing Products, one of the pioneers in the sport of karting, has been providing winning racing karts and components since 1964.
