On 5th February at 15h00 in Paris, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest will announce the list of entries for the European Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship, as well as the pinnacle of endurance racing – the Le Mans 24 Hours! During this press conference, eagerly-awaited by endurance fans all over the world, the names of the 56 cars selected for the 83rd Le Mans 24 Hours will be announced.
Ten teams have already been invited
Remember that as a result of their standings in the various 2014 Le Mans-labeled championships and in the Le Mans 24-Hours race itself, ten teams have already been invited to take part in the famous June rendezvous. They are: AF Corse, SMP Racing and Team AAI, all three of which have won two places in LM GTE, Audi, Jota Sport, Aston Martin Racing, OAK Racing, Signatech Alpine, Wayne Taylor Racing and Scuderia Corsa that have also been awarded an invitation. This represents a total of 13 places.
These teams can only take up their invitations if they have entered for a Le Mans-sanctioned championship in 2015.
Thus, all that remains is to discover the names of the other 43 cars that will make up the 2015 field!
Entries closed on 27th January, and the selection committee, meeting in secret, will make their choice among the entries sent in.
The fruit of their reflection will be the object of the first major rendezvous of 2015, the first step on the long road that leads to the Le Mans 24 Hours.
