Racing resumes in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup this weekend with Silverstone playing host to a healthy 50-car entry for the UK round of the championship. Nissan’s first GT Academy graduate Lucas Ordonez will be back on track with the Signatech Nissan team and the Greaves Motorsport squad will be out to continue its winning form, this time on home ground. In addition to this the TDS Racing and Boutsen Energy teams will also be competing with Nissan power.

The stealthy performance of the Signatech Nissan team has placed it at the top of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup championship table so far this year. As at every event, the team heads to Silverstone with the race victory in its sights, as Lucas Ordonez explains:

“Signatech Nissan has been one of the fastest teams in the last races,” he said. “We are improving every day in terms of performance and reliability, which is the key to this championship. We all know Silverstone very well so this is a good opportunity for us to take the race victory.”

“The team has been working really hard during the summer to make sure we have the perfect car for the second half of the season,” continued Lucas. “Silverstone will be a good track for us with its fast and challenging corners such as Maggots and Beckets and also the technical part through the new arena. I have some really good memories of Silverstone. This was where I first drove an LMP2 car, last year with the KSM team. It is also a special place for me as it is where I won GT Academy in 2008. I have a lot of friends here and I can’t wait to get out on the track this weekend.”

Lucas’ team mates at Silverstone will be regular Signatech Nissan driver Franck Mailleux and Jean Karl Vernay, another talented young Frenchman.
