This July, Motors TV will open its airwaves to one of historic motorsport's most prestigious events, the Le Mans Classic, which takes place between 9-11 July on the famous Le Mans 24 Hours circuit.
On the schedule is a daily programme from Friday 9 July until Tuesday 13 July with highlights of the races and guest interviews.
Throughout the weekend, many of those taking part in the event will join Motors TV in the channel's special studio, located inside the circuit, with the exclusive interviews accompanying each day's highlights.
- Friday (52 minutes): a complete preview of the event.
- Saturday (1h30m): highlights of qualifying, parades, 'Little Big
Mans' and the first races.
- Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (1h30m): race highlights.
The Le Mans Classic takes fans inside the history of the most famous endurance race in the world, the Le Mans 24 Hours. Only cars that have competed in the race between 1923 and 1979 are eligible to take part in the event, which is held every two years.
Staggered races (which include the traditional Le Mans-style starts) will see nearly 470 cars, divided into six categories based on their year of manufacture / competition, competing across 24 hours on the 13.629km track, sometimes in the hands of previous Le Mans 24 Hours winners such as Henri Pescarolo, Derek Bell and Jan Lammers. This is an opportunity to see stunning cars, such as the Chenard and Walker entered in the first edition of Le Mans in 1923 or the Porsche 908 used by Steve McQueen during the filming of the Le Mans movie, race again.
