Benoit Morand, Joe Genoud and their team were proud to be there and to push the blue, white and black LM P2 under the first scrutineering tent at 11am.

As tradition goes, pictures of the car were taken after the inspection and all the crew was invited to stand in front of photographers.

Jean Luc Chemarin (5 times Bol d’Or winner, 4 overall wins in Le Mans 24 Hours, 4 European champion titles and World Champion in 1982) was the team’s very special guest and as such, was able to attend the various scrutineering steps before discovering Le Mans with 4 wheels this time inside the structure of his old friend and also manager of Morand Racing, namely Joe Genoud !

Joe Fabrice Roussel – Engineer of the Morgan Judd #43: “Monday is for sure a very stressful day for any engineer but we felt sure we could fulfill the ACO crew’s requirements and meet their expectations.

It first consists in a weight control only, meaning our car must be over 900 kilos without fuel and driver. Then they check a number of measures as regards width and height but also the wings on the front and back of the car.

Our LM P2 must both respect the rules implemented by the ACO but also technical data given by Onroak Automotive when they homologated it. Next they check the Judd engine together with various electronic components.

Last but not least, the ACO members pay very particular attention to the transponders that play a major part in the race and also give most relevant information as to who is in the car and when.

A forty minutes long control that is most stressful for a young engineer coming to Le Mans for the first time but a dream come true all the same !

The ultimate check is done on the racetrack itself when fuel towers are checked pit after pit and then, then we are given the iconic sticker.

True, having these scrutineering sessions is all the more stressful as such a huge crowd attends the event but it’s also thrilling and most supportive to see that so many love this race.”
