Lamborghini World Final: Hardwick on pole for Am/Cup Race 2
Ryan Hardwick set the pace in Am and Lamborghini Cup class qualifying for the second Super Trofeo World Final race at Imola.
The Lamborghini Cup driver set his pole time shortly after the five minute mark to knock Am driver Massimo Mantovani off top spot.
That was good enough to keep him in front for the rest of the session, with Am driver Yuki Harata setting the second-fastest time, 0.392s off pole, on his first flying lap to take class pole.
The battle for pole fizzled out at the end of the session thanks to a late full course yellow that prevented improvements.
Matej Konopka claimed third place with eight minutes remaining, relegating Manuel Lauck to fourth place ahead of Mantovani.
Having battled for class pole with Hardwick in the first session, JC Perez was second-best of the Lamborghini Cup drivers in sixth place, 0.650s adrift.
That put him a tenth ahead of Miroslav Konopka, with Super Trofeo Asia regulars Andrew Haryanto and Carrier Schreiner completing the top 10.
Super Trofeo Europe Am champion Andrej Lewandowski rounded out the top 10, which was covered by 1.359s.
Third in the Lamborghini Cup class was Cameron Cassels in 15th place, 2.098s off pole.
