SUN PRAIRIE, WI, July 28---Scott Hatton scored a close two car length victory in the 25-lap Badger Midget Series Feature, Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway. The win for Hatton was his fourth in the last six series events.
Polesitter Rick Mueller paced the opening lap, with Hatton gaining the lead on the second lap, with Dan Boorse, and Davey Ray closely following Hatton. The trio pulled away from the field, and enjoyed a quarter lap adavantage over the remaining field by the eighth lap. Hatton continued to lead Boorse, and Ray with the three running around three to four car lengths apart.
Hatton began lapping the back of the field on the fifteenth lap. With six laps remaining the caution appeared for a stalled car. During the caution Boorse who was running second retired with a brake problem. On the restart a three car tangle occured with Nick Lundgreen flipping, escaping injury.
On the restart Hatton led Ray at bay for the final six circuits to score a .61 second victory over Ray, and a fast closing Mike Hess. Aaron Fike, and Chad DeSelle rounded out the top five finishers.
