Flamboro Speedway, Freelton, Ontario - The Castrol Can-Am Midgets made their second stop of the year to Flamboro Speedway and it was Club President Ken Lorenz who emerged victorious in the race sponsored by ITB Transportation Inc. The win was Ken's second of the year and second straight at Flamboro Speedway after ending a ten year winless drought earlier this season. The win moves Lorenz up to six in the points standing, which are still led by Adam Walsh by 28 points over Jeff Riberdy.

The A Main began with the #69 of Earl Caine on the pole but it was outside front row starter Curtis Nichols that led into the first turn. Lorenz in the red 74 slotted into second from his fourth place starting spot with Caine in third. Nichols in the #55 machine held the lead over Lorenz with Randy May now up to third after Caine spun into the infield out of fourth on the third lap with a mechanical failure.

Lorenz made the winning move on the 4th lap with Randy May's #23 taking second three laps later. The cars sailed past the mid-race point without a caution with the top five of Lorenz, Randy May, Jeff Riberdy, Craig Mackereth and Jim Johnstone Jr. running nose to tail. A number of cautions followed which brought the retirements of Colin Turnbull (contact), Andy Mackereth (mechanical), Chris Ralph (mechanical), Dan Smith (mechanical) and David Balych (contact).

A four lap shootout to the checkers followed with Lorenz holding on for his second consecutive win at Flamboro followed by Randy May, Jeff Riberdy in the #6, Johnstone Jr. in the #21 and Craig Mackereth's #43. <pre> Heat Winners Randy May, Craig Mackereth, Ken Lorenz
