NAMARS to sanction 600cc Midgetcar series.
Speedway, IN NAMARS Officials announced today, that beginning in 2003, the organization will sanction a 600cc MidgetCar division. The division will be known as the NAMARS 600cc MidgetCar Series. The Series will consist of twelve to sixteen races throughout Indiana during the 2003 season, with four events on the pavement at the Indianapolis Speedrome as part of NAMARS' popular "Thursday Night Lightning" series, and 8 - 12 races at existing 600cc MidgetCar dirt tracks.
NAMARS primary function will be that of Series administration, licensing, public relations, marketing, Driver development, championship points and financial management, while rule platforms and event officiating will remain with each respective track for the inaugural season. The new series will fit well within the organization's forte and expertise in the area of Driver development, exist as a perfect compliment to the NAMARS Kenyon MidgetCar Division, and further substantiate NAMARS as the world wide leader in championship MidgetCar racing.
Dave Dusick has been named Series Coordinator for the new venture.
