Thunder Mountain Wings Supports ARDC CARQUEST Midgets

BENTON, Pa., Jan. 27 - Race car drivers don't like to flip, but Charlie Probost of Thunder Mountain Wings is taking some of the sting out of it by signing up as a contingency sponsor for the 1999 American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) CARQUEST Midget Series.

His company, based in Benton, Pa., will award a new wing to the 1999 drivers' champion and also to the driver who flips the most during the course of the season. In addition, Thunder Mountain Wings will offer a $20 gift certificate towards the repair of a wing or a new wing to any ARDC CARQUEST Midget Series driver who flips during the course of the 1999 season.

Thunder Mountain Wings also awarded a wing to Ted Schmid at the 1998 ARDC CARQUEST Midget Series banquet in November.

Thunder Mountain Wings has been in business since 1996. All of its wings are manufactured at the Benton, Pa., facility, which is also home to the Probosts' speed shop, Thunder Mountain Speed Equipment.

Thunder Mountain Wings manufactures its components through a joint venture with United States Metal Form of Wyoming, Pa. Probost is especially proud of the company's new, lightened, aerospace-quality wing which it manufactures using Boeing aircraft-specification dies.
