Dailey conquers the Grove in first attempt.
Mechanicsburg, PA- If pictures are worth a thousand words, then Marc Dailey and the Mega Motorsports team wrote a book at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night. Victory lane became a staging area for photos, as Dailey, Brownsburg IN., claimed his first ever winged win and his first ARDC victory.
"I can't complain, said Dailey," the car was real good all night long. "We weren't as good as we wanted in the heats." With a smile on his face, he joked "we changed everything but the steering wheel."
"The Mega Motorsports team worked hard all week on this car," said Dailey, "A special thanks goes out to Kim Trout and Barry Gechter for their work on the motor."
Dailey took the race lead on lap 1 and never looked back. "I knew Ray (Bull) was back there," he said.
Bull, Bloomsburg Pa., was right there as the laps began winding down. Unable to make the final pass, Bull followed Dailey to the checkers.
"Marc (Dailey) was pretty fast," said Bull. "He drove a great race. The bottom was slick and I struggled down there," he continued. While Bull would have loved to claim his second win at Williams Grove, he explained the significance of a win at the track.
The rich history and prestige that surrounds the track is the envy of many. His mother Patsy Bull stitches the hand-sewn checkered flags received by feature winners with love. Dailey too respects that."I think it's great that she takes the time to do that, "he said.
Ed Stimely Jr., McVeytown Pa., knows his way around the track as well. Stimely won at Williams Grove when the ARDC midgets visited during their 2000 campaign. Finishing in third, Stimely was a little disappointed tonight." I just know the way we were tonight, the car was better than third," he said. "I was off the pace."
Another driver who respects the history of the track is rookie Scott Lawrence, Conklin NY. Lawrence was eager to race at Williams Grove, where he had been a spectator many times. He posted his second top ten finish of the season.
Rounding out the top five was Mark Freeland of Ickesburg Pa and Walt Stearly, Trappe Pa.

Coming up: The ARDC midgets return to Silver Spring Speedway on Saturday May 18, for a feature only event.
---
Birthday wishes are extended to rookie Ben Baltrusaitis and ARDC President Keith Mory. Congratulations to Fred and Ruth Ann Schell, who will celebrate their 12th anniversary on May 24.
---
Mel Mowbray and the staff of Phoenixville Speedway will host ARDC celebrity night on Wednesday August 14. Rain date is Thursday Aug. 15. The Montgomery County Racing Club is a non-profit organization that sponsors racing for kids throughout the season. Please mark your calendars and support this fine racing organization.
