The Spaniard joins the already announced Italian Lorenzo Dalla Porta in the Spanish-run team.

Upon the announcement, Arenas said: "I am very happy to get to the World Championship on a permanent basis with this team and I am very happy to have this opportunity.

"We will be very close and I am very motivated and want to learn the bike and all of the team.

"I know that Mahindra is doing a good job, and I have more desire than ever to start this new adventure."

Aspar's Jorge Martinez commented: "We are excited to continue with Albert Arenas and give continuity to a project that started this season in the Moto3 Junior World Championship.

"We work with a clear mission to bring young riders to the World Championship and we want to keep achieving good results with Albert next season.

"We know that Mahindra will give us the tools we need to fight for the highest positions. "

Arenas entered first Moto3 as a wildcard for Mahindra in Jerez and Catalunya this season, before substituting for an injured Jorge Martin in the Netherlands.

The 19-year-old then joined sister team Saxoprint Peugeot from the Austrian round, replacing Alexis Masbou alongside John McPhee.

The CEV Moto3 Junior championship rider, who has yet to score a world championship point, sits eighth in the standings of the Spanish series.

With both Francesco Bagnaia and Martin leaving the team at the end of 2016, Aspar will feature an all-new line-up for the new season.
