After a difficult start to the 2017 Moto3 season, there has been an upturn in Mahindra’s performance in recent races.
The Indian manufacturer scored points at Jerez and Le Mans, and would be hoping to carry the momentum into the upcoming round in Mugello.
Francesco Bagnaia finished on the podium at the Italian venue last year, but a repeat of that result will be an uphill task.

Former Indian F1 driver Karun Chandhok will begin preparation for his fifth assault at Le Mans with the official test on Sunday.
The 33-year-old will be seen behind the wheels of Tockwith’s Ligier JS P217, which will run in the iconic Gulf racing livery.
Sarath Kumar will be competing in the third round of Asia Road Racing Championship’s Supersport 600cc category at Suzuka.
Sarath, who is still recovering from two separate injuries sustained over last year, has scored points in all rounds so far, but is yet to break inside the top 10
Rajiv Sethu will be looking to improve his fortunes in ARRC’s Asia Production 250cc category after a difficult start to the season.
Sethu failed to score points in Johor, while a practice crash brought his Buriram weekend to an early end.
However, having shown strong pace last year in the Honda-backed Asia Dream Cup, one can expect him to bounce back at Suzuka.
Prabhu Arunagiri and KY Ahamed will race alongside Sarath and Sethu at Suzuka, albeit in the Suzuki Asia Challenge.
Both riders have shown promising pace so far, having finished on the cusp of the podium in Buriram.
