The 250cc GP race cancelled due to bad weather

The heavy rain, which fell on Indianapolis today, has upset the programme of events, including the 250cc GP race that was postponed until after the MotoGP event. During the warm-up in the morning, held on a dry track, Yuki Takahashi recorded an excellent fifth-best time, leading the Jir Team Scot rider to look forward to the race where he expected to be battling with the leaders. However, as time went on after the extended finish of the MotoGP race, the decision was made to force the cancellation of holding the 250cc race. Despite this, Yuki was confident that he could get another good result after the podium at Misano, and he looks with optimism to the next Grand Prix, at home, in Japan at the Motegi circuit.

Cirano Mularoni - Team Manager, Team Scot JiR "It is a pity that the race has not been able to be held, because Yuki was ready for a good race and the characteristics of the circuit are favourable to our Honda. Now we think of Motegi, which for Yuki will be an appointment rich in meaning and expectation. We still come from a podium at Misano and we would like to continue with such good results."

"After the warm up this morning, I was ready for a good race. I believe that we could get good results even with the rain here. When we were deployed on the grid ready for the race with just a few minutes to go, the rain began to fall heavily and the race was postponed so that the MotoGP race could run. Sadly after the MotoGP race the weather conditions did not improve and we could not run the race. I am sorry because I was competitive in the wet and I felt we could also fight for the podium. The next Grand Prix is at Motegi in Japan, my home race, where I want to achieve another good result."
