The Spanish team, which currently runs Hector Barbera and Loris Baz on its pair of Ducati GP14.2s, has been courting former Moto2 champion Bradl since the German was dropped by the factory Aprilia team.
Bradl must make up his mind shortly after his home race at the Sachsenring this weekend, with an offer to join Nicky Hayden at the Honda WSBK squad the other option he has on the table.
Should he opt for the latter course, it would be at the expense of Michael van der Mark, who is believed to be at the top of Ducati’s wishlist to join Chaz Davies at the Italian marque's factory team in 2017.
In this case, Baz would be granted a stay of execution to remain alongside Barbera, whose future at Avintia has already been secured.
Speaking in the pre-event press conference about his future, Bradl said his future is “not clear at the moment”, but hopes to have it sorted before the next race at Austria.
He added: “There are a few talks around, I cannot say anything concrete at the moment. We see what the next few days bring, and I try especially to concentrate on my home GP this weekend.
“I’m trying to sort out my future in the next few weeks, before the Red Bull Ring GP.”
Bautista and Aspar continue talks
Meanwhile, Aspar – the only other team with seats available for the 2017 season – is still working on a deal to bring Aprilia refugee Alvaro Bautista into the fold.
Incumbent riders Yonny Hernandez and Eugene Laverty both remain in the frame to continue alongside the Spaniard should a deal be signed, although the latter is also openly “sizing up” options in World Superbikes.
