The 4.064km modified track has been on the world championship calendar since the 2007 season as the San Marino Grand Prix and will continue to host the race for the next four years.

"Investments, professionalism and passion," said Luca Colaiacovo, Santa Monica SpA president at the announcement.

"We feel another four years of MotoGP at Misano World Circuit as the eulogy of the job done by an international-level team, that during this decade reinforced Simoncelli’s as one of the most welcoming and safe international circuits.

"MotoGP is the spearhead of a long season of events. MWC is the stage of global events and it’s fully integrated within the formidable Motor Valley brand, defining a land able to win any challenge."

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports added: "The confirmation of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini GP for the next four years guarantees the MotoGP calendar a date of great sporting importance.

"During these ten years we witnessed an impetuous growth of interest and attention. At the same time, a number of promotional projects are coming out on top, exalting a global cradle of passion for motors, with extraordinary champions and new talents on track.

"The Circuit has spent generous and incessant investments to safely welcome spectators and races. There are all the ingredients for further growth," he added.
