A big crowd showed up today in the Pramac Racing Team hospitality, where the first ecological MotoGP Team had the honor to host the man that is considered by many to be the king of design, French creator and designer Philippe Starck. The internationally renowned creator is the father of the RevolutionAir wind turbines (also distributed in Italy by the Franchising network Enel.si - a subsidiary of Enel Green Power). The blades, to which have been reserved a surrounding area near the hospitality have attracted much curiosity, they are also an integral part of the paddock because since the Grand Prix in Jerez they are a permanent presence on the roof of both Team's trucks. Attending the press conference were Philippe Starck, Pramac Racing Team Principal Paolo Campinoti, Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and FIM President Vito Ippolito. During the press conference the livery of the bikes designed by Starck was presented. The two Pramac Racing Riders, Mika Kallio and Aleix Espargarò, will use it during tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix in the MotoGP class. The 5th of June, coincides with World Environment Day, this is why the Team Pramac thought to celebrate this event by changing the "clothes" of their bikes. Both liveries will be autographed by the designer and will then be auctioned after the race. The entire amount of the auction money will be used to finance an ecological project that the Pramac Racing will develop during this year with Riders for Health. The auction will start next week on Riders for Health official web site. (www.riders.org)

Philippe Starck - Artistic director, creator & designer:

"Times are changing.
Times change,
Very fast.
Yesterday, ecology was looking backwards.
Now ecology is creating the future.
And, surprise, even a motorbike can do it.
What will be next ?
Thank you Pramac Racing Team!"

Paolo Campinoti - Pramac Racing Team Principal :

"It's a real honor for us to be able to host one of the most prominent figures in international design. I really want to thank Philippe Starck to have design our liveries and to had decided to celebrate the World Environmental Day with us. During this race our bikes will wear a true piece of art. Philippe Starck has always joined the objects convenience with a high sense of aesthetics that would make, even a simple objects, of everyday use, a pieces of art. Just think about the wind turbines "RevolutionAir" that he has designed for the Pramac Group. Looking to the blades curvy is easy to see the beauty in the practicality of an object that is not supposed to be necessarily beautiful. Thanks to this initiative, the policies of sustainability that we have decided to follow during this season will certainly have a big importance in the world. The initiatives that we are following during this year, have not only the duty to reduce our environmental impact, but to make understand to everyone that if we all start to do something like dividing waste in recycling boxes, we will be able to do much for the environment around us. Each of us holds a strong power, to decide if is right to live in a polluted world or if is right to help maintain his shines. I also hope that because of the uniqueness of this piece, there will be many bids during the auction that will take place after the race: we will use all the amount of the money to support the development of an environmentally sustainable project. In fact, thanks to the collaboration of Riders for Health, we will buy with the money from the auction, solar panels that will be given to a clinic in Zambia where they help the residents to control and prevent HIV. I would really like to thanks all the participants to this important event, including the director of the Mugello Circuit, Mr. Poli, who has allowed us the possibility to host this important event and for this reason I am glad to say that we will donate two wind turbines designed by Philippe Starck for Pramac to this prestigious structure which will begin the first ecological circuit in the whole world."

Carmelo Ezpeleta - CEO of Dorna:

"I would like to thank the Pramac Racing Team and Philippe Starck for the initiative that they are promoting this season. In particular, I think that thanks to the meeting between art and motor sport that is happening during this weekend, MotoGP will increase its worldwide visibility. So in the same way the initiative will serve to increase the awareness in all the fans that comes to the circuit or that follow bikes races. The Pramac Team is the first team with emission control; some other MotoGP Team are following this direction and I hope that many other will follow the example of this Italian Team. We are following with interest all the initiatives that the Green Energy Team is doing this year also because we may be able to increase our support in this sort of initiatives in the near future."

Vito Ippolito - FIM President :

"First of all, congratulations to Pramac Racing Team for the great example they are giving by carrying on this initiative that marries motorcycling and sustainability. The collaboration between Pramac Racing Team and Philippe Starck gives to this initiative a very important media exposure that will be recognized not only by the motorcycling fans but also by the general public. Pramac Racing Team understood the importance of respecting the environment, acting to reduce their environmental footprint, invest in sustainable projects and use their popularity to pass an important message to the public and fans. Since many years, the FIM is committed to raising the awareness among the motorcycling world about the importance of respecting the environment for the future of our sport but more important, for the future of our children. We hope that other teams, and not only in MotoGP, will join Pramac Racing Team in their effort to reduce their environmental impact and promote sustainability."
