THE BREAK IS OVER: LET'S SWTICH ON THE ENGINES!
MotoGP is the world's premier motorcycling championship, with a season of 18 Grand Prix in 14 countries bringing together the world's top motorcycle manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Ducati. Each Grand Prix brings together the most talented riders from across the world, to participate in races across three distinct categories - MotoGP, Moto2 and 125cc.
In the forthcoming season the LCR Honda MotoGP Team will celebrate his 15th year of participation to the elite show on wheels and the fifth season in the premier class continuing his collaboration with Honda HRC and the French talent Randy de Puniet.
Even this year Lucio Cecchinello will manage the Team together with 25 collaborators of 9 different countries: France, Japan, Belgium, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, Monaco, Northern Ireland and San Marino and, for the fourth time, the former 125cc class rider has been selected as a member of the IRTA Committee (International Road Racing Teams Association) which deal with FIM (Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme), Dorna Sports S.L. (MotoGP Championship Commercial and Logistic Rights Holder) and MSMA (Motorcycle Sports Manufactures' Association) about technical, sporting, logistic and riders safety rules.
The 61st edition of the Grand Prix Road-Racing World Championship (dating back to 1949, it is the oldest motorsport World Championship in existence) will start on the 11th of April in Doha (Qatar) and will come to an end on the 7th of November in Valencia. Every circuit on the MotoGP calendar has its own unique atmosphere, features, history and layout - from the flat, floodlit, desert terrain of Losail International in Qatar to the majestic, winding beauty of Mugello in the Tuscan hills of northern Italy and the Australian up-and-down seaside circuit of Phillip Island.
MotoGP's global attendance was impressively far reaching once again in 2009:
207 countries receiving LIVE TV signal
5,257 broadcasted hours
226 million homes reached via cable/satellite TV networks
10.367 media representatives from 54 countries
Average of 610 media staff attending each event
Over 47 million visits to motogp.com web site/219 million pages visited
More than 2.3 million spectators in attendance at the circuits
The thrill of 2010 MotoGP races will be produced and distributed in HD format, further highlighting the colour, excitement and sheer pace of Grand Prix motorcycle racing.
The combination of the spectacular overtaking manoeuvres, remarkable cornering speeds, adrenaline pumping acceleration displays, passionate stadium crowds, truly competitive racing and ecstatic celebrations, beautiful girls and much more are round the corner... STAY TUNED!
