Trackhouse announces Davide Brivio’s exit ahead of Honda move

Major management shift at Trackhouse as the team confirms Davide Brivio will depart at the end of the current MotoGP season

Trackhouse team principal Davide Brivio will vacate his role at the end of the 2026 MotoGP season ahead of a widely expected move to Honda, it has been confirmed.

The American squad communicated his impending departure from the team following the sprint at the Catalan Grand Prix, in which both Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura finished inside the points.

In a dedicated press release, Trackhouse lauded the Italian manager, praising him for bringing his “wide-ranging experience, know-how and foresight” to the project and delivering "enormous benefit” to the team.

No replacement for Brivio was announced, but the team noted that “a new leadership structure for the MotoGP team is currently developing”.

“Davide has been instrumental in establishing the Trackhouse MotoGP Team as a powerful force in the sport. His expertise, experience, and vision have proven vital in the creation and development of our race team,” said Justin Marks, Founder and Owner of Trackhouse Entertainment Group.

“We’re all extremely grateful for the work he has put in and wish only the best of luck in his future endeavours. As for our team, we have an extremely exciting and bright future and cannot wait to announce our new leadership and other significant developments in the coming months".

Brivio led Trackhouse’s entry into MotoGP in 2024 after it took over the erstwhile RNF Racing operation from previous owner Razlan Razali.

Under his reign, Raul Fernandez scored Trackhouse’s maiden victory at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, while MotoGP sophomore Ai Ogura put the squad back on the podium at last weekend’s French GP.

Trackhouse currently sits second in the teams’ standings, just behind its manufacturer partner Aprilia, with 129 points on board. Fernandez and Ogura’s early results have also helped Aprilia strengthen its grip in the constructors’ standings.

Brivio, who previously worked with Yamaha and guided Suzuki to the 2020 championship, is set to work directly with a manufacturer again, having agreed terms to join Honda from 2027. However, Motorsport.com understands that he will not directly replace Alberto Puig, who will step down from his position as team manager to take on an advisory role.

“It has been an important step in both my professional and personal journey and it also gave me the opportunity to add the new experience of leading an independent team. Together, we achieved important results that I will always carry with me as special memories.

“Trackhouse is only at the beginning of its journey and I truly believe it has a great future ahead. But, for now, it is time to get back to work and try to achieve a few more great results together before the end of the season.”
