Barrie, Ontario: The Canada Day Shootout is the next major event on the 2002 calendar for the Blue Streak Racing Team. "Our whole team is looking forward to competing in the Canada Day Shootout this weekend," says Al Turner owner/driver of the #76 Blue Streak Intrepids.

"We had a great car again at Mosport oval this past weekend but an unexpected mechanical failure left us with a very disappointing finish," added Turner. "We have had some tough breaks so far, but we're looking forward to showing the fans and our NASCAR visitors at Cayuga that we can run up front with the best from both series."

Both Turner Motorsports and Blue Streak will be very active at the event on Saturday and Sunday selling Blue Streak Racing Charity T-Shirts. The Rick Hansen Man in Motion Foundation is the official charity of Blue Streak Racing and the money generated from the sale of t-shirts will all go to accelerate the discovery of a cure for spinal cord injury.

Also on the program, The Auto Parts Plus/Auto Plus Charity 20 Lap Shoot Out will see the victorious NASCAR driver donating the purse of $5,000.00 to the Rick Hansen Man In Motion Foundation. More support for a worthy cause. On Sunday Blue Streak will host 200 of its valued customers in the Hospitality Village.

"Our sponsor, Blue Streak, will be working hard to make this weekend a winner for our charity and the fans," says Turner. "The Blue Streak Racing Team hopes to extend that same positive performance on to the track with the Blue Streak Intrepid."
