The race was held on the short Autodrome Chaudière oval located in Vallée-Jonction, Québec, just one week after the previous race held at Sunset Speedway, Ontario.

The race

The first two rows are made of Alex Labbé, Cayden Lapcevich, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin and Alex Tagliani.

The weather is perfect when the cars get the green, and Labbé and Lapcevich engage in a furious battle. On lap 11, Lapcevich takes the lead. A few laps later, Dumoulin powers in front of Ranger and Tagliani for third. Kerry Micks retires.

On lap 28, Labbé retakes the lead. On lap 49, the leaders start putting the last cars one lap down. Twelve laps later, Labbé is leading by 1.824 seconds over Lapcevich. Dumoulin is third, ahead of Ranger, Tagliani and Jason Hathaway. Using lapped cars, Ranger moves up to third. Labbé has a three-second lead over his pursuers.

Lap 86: caution for debris on the race track, and Kevin Lacroix’s car is damaged. And he is penalized for aggressive driving.

We go green on lap 97. Ranger powers to second place with Donald Theetge right behind him. A few laps later, Theege falls back to fifth place. The order is now Labbé, Ranger and Lapcevich.

The mid-race point (lap 150) is marked by a caution. The race is restarted after a short pause. At the green, Ranger powers into the lead. A few laps later, there’s a full course yellow following an accident involving Kevin Lacroix and Josh Collins. At the restart, Ranger remains first, but quickly has to fend off Labbé. Hathaway, twice a winner of this race, runs in fourth place, but is passed by Theetge on lap 190.

Red flag

Leaders Ranger and Labbé run side by side for several laps. Full course yellow on lap 202, and then the red flag shown to remove Anthony Simone’s damaged car.

Green on lap 212, and Ranger jumps into the lead. Lapcevich is second, inches in front of Theetge. Six laps later, Lapcevich moves into first place after Ranger spins it and falls down to 8th place. Lapcevich leads from Labbé, Theetge and Tagliani.

With 30 laps to go, Lapcevich is still first in front of Labbé, Tagliani, Theetge and Hathaway. With 20 laps to go, Labbé forces his way into first place and leads… by inches. The two start pushing each other and run side-by-side.

On lap 300, the chequered is waved for Alex Labbé who wins the CRS Express 300. Cayden Lapcevich is second and Alex Tagliani, third.

Theetge, Mark Dilley, Lacroix, Hathaway, Ranger, David Michaud and D.J. Kennington complete the top 10.
