D.J. Kennington retires with a lot of smoke underneath the hood. On lap 7, Ranger finds a way past Lacroix at the end of the long straightway. And Ranger immediately pulls away from his rivals. Tagliani passes Morad for third place. Then, Tagliaini puts intense pressure on Lacroix.
But Morad retakes third place from Tagliani! Moments later, on lap 9, Jason White just slides into the tire barrier to bring out a full course caution, which eliminates Ranger’s two-second lead.

On lap 22, Ranger misses his braking and Tagliani gets through. Meanwhile, Lacroix, Jason Hattaway and Robin Buck are battling for fourth place.
Morad’s car is sliding seriously, and he taps the wall, allowing Tagliani to take the lead.
Lap 26 - Tagliani and Ranger break away from the pack with 10 laps to go. Then, Lacroix and Hathaway touch, sending the No. 3 car of Hathway in a spin. Moments later, Lacroix is battling against Robin Buck. The two rub wheels, and Buck’s car suffers a flat tire.
