RANGER POSTS ANOTHER TOP FIVE FINISH

Hamilton, ON: Sunday night under a full moon, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series teams took to the track for the Mopar 300 at Barrie Speedway. Andrew Ranger driver of the #27 Wal-Mart/Tide Ford Fusion prepared by Jacombs Racing made believers of everyone as he made his way to the front of the field to finish 5th. From the 5/8 mile of Cayuga Speedway, to the challenging road course at Mosport to the Barrie bullring, Ranger continues to post top five finishes, including a win at Mosport.

Ranger didn't qualify as well as he planned and found himself lining up on the grid to start the race in the sixteenth position. He quickly settled in got comfortable until heading to pit road on lap 80 for two tires and fuel which would get him to the finish. At the half way point after all pit stops had cycled through Ranger was solidly in the top ten. The Wal-Mart/Tide Ford driver continued to pick off competitors one at a time and finished a very solid fifth.

"I was very impressed," stated an enthusiastic team owner Dave Jacombs after the race. "We were aiming for a top five but knew it was going to be tough here at Barrie. Andrew just proved again he is an amazing driver and we are lucky to have him in our car," he added.

Dodge driver D.J. Kennington took top spot after having qualified on the pole in the season opener only to break on the first lap. Mark Dilley in the #9 Dodge won the Bud Pole Award on this his home track.

Rangers continues to be on top in the National point standings, however he is now sharing that spot with the #9 of Mark Dilley as they are tied, each with 500 points.

The next event for the #27 team is at Sun Valley Speedway in the beautiful Okanogan Valley, then on to Edmonton for the Grand Prix Weekend.
