Barrie: Anthony Simone qualifying report

SIMONE ON POLE AT BARRIE

Anthony Simone driver of the No. 95 Crown Modular/United Lumber Monte Carlo set fast time for the Torbram 300 Presented by The Source on Saturday night at Barrie Speedway.

Simone led the early laps of the Torbram 300, which included going side-by-side with Mark Dilley for several laps. Simone's problems started around the halfway mark with a spin, but he was able to rebound from that spin with the "free pass" to get his lap back on lap 171.

IMG_2530-1.JPG The second half of the race proved to be frustrating for Simone as he had contact with another car that sent him to the pit lane. Later there was more contact that ended with Simone in the wall, and he had to return for more work to his No. 95 Crown Modular/United Lumber Monte Carlo.

Even with having to stop numerous times, Simone was able to rebound to finish just outside the top 10 in 12th position.

Simone now prepares for the trip to Riverside Speedway in Antigonish Nova Scotia next Saturday Sept.19th.
