Lapcevich geared up for good Barrie finish

"The EMCEA Transport -- Tim Hortons Monte Carlo has been strong this year"

HAMILTON, ONTARIO (September 6, 2007) -- When the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series returns to Barrie Speedway this weekend, Jim Lapcevich of Fastline Motorsports has something to prove. The veteran stock car driver has had the car and the opportunity to win this year, but the team's luck has not gone their way.

Jim Lapcevich "We should have had a couple podium finishes this year on ovals," explained Jim Lapcevich. "Things just have not worked out in our favor."

Lapcevich was running second in the final laps at Mosport a few weeks ago and was leading on the final lap in Cayuga last week before late-race mishaps involving other competitors left him watching as someone else took the victory.

"It's been difficult, as the EMCEA Transport -- Tim Hortons Monte Carlo has been strong this year," added Lapcevich. "I feel bad for the team everyone works hard, we've been so close."

Teammate Jeff Lapcevich will not be competing at Barrie.
