STECKLY MOVES UP TO THIRD IN POINTS AFTER FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT BARRIE

BARRIE, ON, Saturday September 11, 2010: Scott Steckly driver of the No. 22 Racing/Canadian Tire Dodge qualified in second and lead the most laps but with a late race pit stop didn't have enough time to make his way back to the front and crossed the finish line in fourth place.

After registering the quickest time in practice Steckly qualified second. The driver of the No. 22 Racing/Canadian Tire Dodge turned the .333 mile oval in a time of 14.383 seconds with an average speed of 83.3 mph. Afterwards Steckly commented that he was happy with the car and was looking forward to the race as the team had given him a great car and that they would be in contention for the win.

At the drop of the green flag Steckly wasted no time and immediately took over the lead and began to pull away from the pack.

Steckly maintained the lead until just prior to the half way point when he came to pit road for service. It was a quick stop as Steckly only took fuel and restarted in second. Seventeen laps later the No. 22 took over the lead again, leading for a total of 176 laps, but Steckly was not able to hold onto the top position as the cars behind him had taken tires under the previous caution.

Steckly needed a caution so he could get to pit road and put new tires on the car. At lap 264 it finally came and Steckly put on both right and left side tires. The No. 22 Racing, Canadian Tire driver battled hard and after passing several cars on the outside he crossed the finish line in fourth.

"It is hard to settle for fourth when we had such a good car," said Steckly after the race, "We moved up to third in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series point standings with two races to go and are very happy about that. We had the car to beat all night and should have won the race. We just needed that last caution a little earlier."

Finish 1. DJ Kennington 2. Don Thomson Jr. 3. Pete Sheppard III 4. Scott Steckly 5. JR Fitzpatrick

Scott Steckly move up to third in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series point standings with only two events remaining.

The Wild Wing 300 presented by DriveWise will be broadcasted on TSN on Saturday September 18th at noon EST.

Next up for the 22 Racing Team will be the Komatsu 300 presented by Wilson Equipment in Antigonish, Nova Scotia at Riverside International Speedway.
