HAMILTON, ONTARIO (August 27, 2008) -- He's raced there many times, and Jim Lapcevich is looking forward to competing once again at Cayuga Speedway, this time for the running of the Coke Zero 200.

The driver of the Fastline Motorsports-prepared, Tim Hortons Chevy Monte Carlo will be racing at one of his favorite tracks in this next round of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, race 10 of the 13-race 2008 season.

"I really like racing at Cayuga," said Lapcevich. "It's the fastest track we race on, and it's always nice to race on what I consider my home track. My family and friends, along with the sponsors of the Fastline team come out to cheer us on, and I will be racing there Sunday to do my best."

In last year's Cayuga race, Lapcevich started the 200-lap contest in 13th spot, and by lap 163 had taken the lead. For the remainder of the race, Lapcevich and Peter Gibbons swapped the lead several times before Lapcevich took the point again on lap 189. While leading with one lap to go, he got into an altercation with a lapped car, and both he and Gibbons were taken out of contention. Lapcevich managed to get back on the track and ended up in eighth.

With a sixth in the recent Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières event after starting 15th, and an eighth at Mosport after starting in 20th spot, the former CASCAR Super Series rookie of the year will be ready when the green flag drops Saturday at 7:35 p.m.

"I've raced at Cayuga many times, and I know the track well," Lapcevich commented. "The team has prepared a great car for me, and we're going to give it our best shot."
