Jim Lapcevich quickest in Friday practice.
Calgary winner leads the way in advance of first qualifying session.

VANCOUVER, BC - Less than a week after ending an eight-year winless streak, Jim Lapcevich demonstrated that his victory at Calgary's Race City Speedway was no fluke. During Friday's practice session for Saturday's CASCAR Super Series race at the Vancouver Indy, the Raceline Radio / Fastline Motorsports Chevy driver posted the quickest time of the half-hour session. The Hamilton, ON racer toured the 12-turn temporary street circuit in 1 minute and 25.740 seconds.

Second-quickest was CASCAR Western Series regular Wade Lee, who posted a time of 1:25.862 in his Ford & Lincoln Dealers of Western Canada Taurus. Defending CASCAR Vancouver Indy winner Al Turner was third-fastest at 1:26.140.

The CASCAR Super Series teams return to the track at 5:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon for their first of two half-hour qualifying sessions. Another session will be held at 8:25 a.m. Saturday morning, which will set the grid for Saturday afternoon's main event, at 3:00 p.m.
