STECKLY CLINCHES THIRD IN POINTS WITH A SIXTH AT KAWARTHA

Peterborough, ON, Saturday September 25, 2010: Scott Steckly qualified the No. 22 Racing/Canadian Tire MotoMaster Dodge qualified fourth and finished the Kawartha 250 in sixth place.

After practicing sixth quickest Steckly turned the fourth fasted time in qualifying, navigating the .375-mile track in a time of 18.123 and an average speed of 74.5 mph. Steckly started on the outside of row two.

When the green flag waved Steckly settled into second and even challenged for the lead before surrendering second place. Steckly kept himself inside the top three for the first 75 laps in case the weather had a hand in the finish. On lap 75 Steckly came to pit road to top up on fuel and with a quick stop he beat all his competitors off pit road to restart in fifth.

On lap 125 another caution came out and the No. 22 Racing/Canadian Tire MotoMaster Dodge came to pit road twice under the same caution for four fresh Goodyear tires. Most of the teams elected to take only two tires and the No.22 decided to take all four, to ensure that they would have good track position later in the race and as a result restarted 16th out of the 24 car field.

With fresh tires Steckly was able to charge hard to the front and 20 laps later he had moved into eighth place. Steckly would battle back and forth with Mark Dilley and DJ Kennington for several laps. Both cars got by Steckly as his car wasn't handling they way he would have liked.

Steckly gave it his all and managed to pick up two more spots, crossing the finish line in sixth place.

"The car was good through the middle part of the race after we put tires on, but it was getting to be a handful at the end." Steckly commented, "We had a great season, with four podiums, eight top five finishes, and a win. We took home third in the point standings and are looking forward to challenging for the 2011 championship."

"We wouldn't have been able to do this without a great sponsorship and the hard work and dedication of my team, they worked hard all year to get us to this point. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen."

Scott Steckly finished the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series third overall in standings.
