STECKLY FOURTH AT CIRCUIT GILLES VILLENEUVE

MONTREAL, QC, Sunday Aug. 29, 2010: Scott Steckly qualified in tenth and the No. 22 Racing/Jumpstart/Canadian Tire Dodge crossed the finish fourth in Sunday's Autopro 100 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

After practicing twelfth fastest on Saturday, the No.22 team was not happy with the car and headed to the hauler to make changes before qualifying.

In qualifying, Steckly posted a time quick enough for the tenth starting position as he manoeuvred the 2.079 mile road course in a time of 1:47.006with an average speed of 91.2 mph. The team still was not satisfied with the car and made more changes Saturday night prior to Sunday's Auto Pro 100.

Steckly settled into tenth place at the drop of the green flag looking for the opportunity to move up. "The restarts were intense and guys were jockeying for position and I just tried to bide my time," commented Steckly after the race.

Steckly was running in sixth when a late race caution came out setting the field up for a green-white-checkered finish.

On the final restart Steckly did not hold back and the No. 22 Racing/Jumpstart/Canadian Tire Dodge picked up two more positions and crossed the finish line in fourth place.

After the race Steckly commented that "We had a good car we just kept losing positions on the restarts because we were trying to stay out of trouble but we will settle for this fourth place finish."

Finish 1. Andrew Ranger. 2. Don Thomson Jr. 3. Robin Buck 4. Scott Steckly.

The point's battle has heated up as the top two drivers after event nine, Fitzpatrick and Kennington both spent time on pit road making repairs. Scott Steckly remains fourth in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series point standings 99 points out of the top spot with three events remaining.

The Auto Pro 100 was broadcast live on TSN and will air again on Saturday August 31st, at Midnight EST.

Next up for the 22 Racing Team will be the Wild Wing 300 at Barrie Speedway where Steckly finished third in 2009.
