VORTEX BRAKES TO SPONSOR MOSPORT SPEEDWAY RACE IN NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES

(BOWMANVILLE, ON - AUGUST 7, 2009) Vortex Brakes has been announced as the new title sponsor of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Mosport Speedway, this Saturday, August 8. The race is now officially known as the Vortex Brake Pads 200.

Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Vortex (www.vortexbrakes.com) is a leading aftermarket brake pad manufacturer specializing in hydraulic and air disc brake pads, and has more than 1,400 brake pad applications. Founded in 1997, this Canadian-owned company has 60,000 square feet of state of the art manufacturing and warehousing facilities. Their Positive Mold presses are custom built for their original equipment-specific manufacturing process. Vortex has recently added three new presses to meet the needs of their growing customer base.

"We're proud to extend our association with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series to include one of the premier events and facilities in the Series, Mosport Speedway," said Bryan Watts, Vice-President of Vortex Brakes. "Mosport hosts the only two Toronto-area events in the championship. So this Saturday's race, coupled with our sponsorship of the Team 3 Red/Ed Hakonson Racing and driver Jason Hathaway, will help to generate more awareness for our company and our high-quality line of aftermarket brake pads."

Vortex signed a multi-year agreement sponsorship agreement with the Team 3 Red/Ed Hakonson Racing #3 Dodge Avenger earlier this year.

The Vortex Brake Pads 200 is the eighth of 13 stops on the 2009 Canadian Tire Series schedule. The gates open at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and time trials are set for 5:00 p.m. Fans will also want to make sure to bring their Sharpies and cameras for the driver autograph session that will get underway at 5:45 p.m. on the front straight. The Vortex Brake Pads 200, a 200 lap, 100 mile race, gets underway at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $30 at the gate for adults, youths 13-16 are $15, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paid adult admission and parking is free.

For more information about tickets, call the Mosport Hotline at 1-800-866-1072 (Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET) or visit online at www.mosport.com. Tickets are also available at Ticketmaster.
