Riverside: Goodyear Racing race notes

DILLEY OVERCOMES PROBLEM TO WIN AT RIVERSIDE

ANTIGONISH, Nova Scotia, Canada (Sept. 15, 2007) -- Mark Dilley overcame a dry fuel tank and managed to win the Atlantic Dodge Dealers 300 race in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at Riverside International Speedway.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the NCATS. The bias-ply tires Goodyear supplies the series are all built at the same plant in Akron, Ohio where all of Goodyear's racing tires are manufactured. The tires built for the Canadian series come from the same line Goodyear supplies the two series in NASCAR's Grand National Division.

Dilley started fourth and was running with the leaders when his fuel tank ran dry during a caution period on the 205th circuit around the 1/3-mile track. He was able to pit, refuel and refire his engine without losing much track position.

Dilley's margin of victory, .852 of a second, was sizable for the NCATS. J.R. Fitzpatrick finished second, followed by D.J. Kennington, Derek Lynch and Dave Whitlock.

Dilley averaged 54.857 mph in the race and Peter Gibbons won the Bud Pole Award with a lap averaging 80.549 mph.

Andrew Ranger, the championship points leader, finished 13th. That allowed Kennington to close to within 41 points of the lead.
