Monday June 5, 2000: Stratford's Scott Steckly in the #22 AW Millwrights/Erb Transport Pontiac put in a strong performance at Sunday's Ford Quality Care 250 finishing on the lead lap in the 12th position.
The 22 Racing Team time trialed strong again in this the second event on the CASCAR Castrol Super Series 2000 tour with the 14th fastest time out of the forty six competitors who attempted to qualify. Steckly went on to win the heat race setting them up to start 14th on the grid for the Ford Quality Care 250 later in the day.
The AW Millwrights/Erb Transport Pontiac ran strong and continued to move up during the race climbing to as high as sixth on several occasions. Pit stops then ensued for tires and fuel and Steckly returned to the field in the eleventh position. He again moved up through the field all the time working to maintain the tires. A final finishing position of 12th will help move the team up in the point standings after their disappointing finish in the prior event.
The next event for the #22 Racing/AW Millwrights/Erb Transport Pontiac Team will be the UAP Napa/Auto Pro 150 at Autodrome St. Eustache just outside Montreal, PQ.
