St-Eustache: Mark Dilley race report

DILLEY SETTLES FOR TENTH AT ST. EUSTACHE

St. Eustache, QC, Saturday July 3, 2010: Mark Dilley driver of the No. 9 Rheem Dodge Avenger started the weekend with a tenth place qualifying effort and crossed the finish line also in the tenth position in Saturday's Lucas Oil National 250.

Dilley qualified the car in tenth place and afterwards commented "we didn't qualify where we had hoped, but I'm very happy with the car, we looking forward to a strong race."

Dilley had moved up to ninth in the 250 lap event when an early caution came out and the No. 9 team took the Dilley St. Eustache.jpg opportunity to come to pit road and take left side tires. Dilley restarted in 11th, but with fresh tires was able to quickly make his way through the pack to the front.

When the next caution came out the rest of the pack pitted and the No. 9 Dodge Avenger took over the lead for the next15 laps. When the next caution came out Dilley pitted again for right side tires and fuel. He restarted the race in ninth.

The No. 9 Rheem Dodge driver had made his way up to the fifth position with two laps to go when he got clipped by a car involved in a wreck ahead of him. The incident resulted in a flat tire and a bent front suspension. Dilley managed to hang onto the car and stay on the lead lap long enough to cross the finish line in tenth place.

Dilley was disappointed after the race, "We were looking for that top five finish and we had it in our sights, but unfortunately got caught up in the last lap incident between the leaders and lost several spots."

The next event for the No.9 Part Source Dodge will be the Jumpstart 100 at the Toronto Honda Indy on July 16, 17th.
